After an excellent visit to Manhattan, Kansas this weekend, Tri-City Christian senior Nigel Shadd has verbally committed to Kansas State University. K-State competes in the Big 12 conference which has had the #1 RPI for the best conference in college basketball the last three years.

Nigel called Head Coach Bruce Weber tonight to give him the news. Weber told us, “I was extremely excited to receive a call from Nigel telling us that he is joining the KSTATE Basketball Family! I was very impressed by Nigel because he is so much more than just a basketball player – he is a well-rounded true Student-athlete and has a bright future ahead of him!” Assistant coach Chester Frazier, who was instrumental in his recruiting added “We love him! He’s gonna be really good. His potential is through the roof- his work ethic will make him great. We are so excited!”

Thank you to all the teammates and alumni who have helped his development over the years. Three years ago as a freshman, very few people thought this would happen. He put in tireless work and has earned a full-ride scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 basketball. Congratulations to Nigel and his family!
